Finland's largest contemporary music festival Musica nova Helsinki begins today. During the next ten days, a multifaceted series of adventures in contemporary music will take place at several venues around Helsinki.
The two monodramas, "Nothing to Declare" composed by Perttu Haapanen and "Λελελε Lelele" by Lotta Wennäkoski are set to appear at several international festivals following their Helsinki premieres on February 5 (with a second staging set for Feb 7).
Musica nova Helsinki, Finland’s biggest contemporary music festival, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in style. The theme for the 2011 festival is new German music.

Johan Tallgren continues as artistic director
Composer Johan Tallgren was appointed artistic director of the Musica nova Helsinki festival of contemporary music in autumn 2007.
